Breakwater Associate’s skilled subject matter experts work across all sectors – including federal, state, local governments, and nonprofit settings – to hone leadership skills that assure organizational success. Services are provided through comprehensive assessment, coaching and mentoring, and inclusive governance training to build leadership capacity. At Breakwater Associates, we believe that leadership development is ultimately the responsibility of the learner, and that our role is to foster the potential within each leader.

Assessments

The Breakwater Associates team of coaches begin the process of leadership development by conducting comprehensive assessments that focus on communication, conflict and leadership styles, emotional intelligence, decision-making, and core competencies. The results of the assessments are used to individualize the coaching that is provided to individuals and teams.

Coaching and Mentoring

Breakwater Associates provides executive leadership and team coaching services through our subject matter experts. Our services also include guiding clients in the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of internal mentoring programs to ensure that those who provide mentoring and coaching are well-prepared. Our coaching model is framed within a collaborative coaching partnership that includes the development of shared goals and action planning, focused observations and conversation, and reflection and feedback. Coaching and mentoring include a variety of modalities, including virtual one-on-one session, facilitation of learning communities, and team coaching.

Corporate Governance

The team at Breakwater Associates works closely with clients to create a system of rules and practices that determine how a company operates and how it aligns with the interest of all partners.  Our subject matter experts work with boards of directors and key leaders to implement practices across four key principles of corporate governance: accountability, transparency, fairness, and responsibility.
